Fix Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed In Windows 7


If you are trying to install any software in Windows 7, then you might encounter an error saying Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed. And now, if you wondering if there is a way to fix it, then my answer would be Yes.

Technically, this error occurs when you either to try to run it in the Safe Mode or when the Windows Installer is not installed. Such error is a rare one in Windows XP and Vista, but it does occur.

Windows Installer being a fundamental component, any issue with it does cause problem. Here is the step by step guide to fix “Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed” :

  • Click on the Start button
  • Now, you need to open the command prompt
  • Now, on the prompt, type msiexec.exe /unregister and press enter
  • And at the end type msiexec /regserver and press enter again
