Pre-requisites
First and most important thing before starting is to identify whether your computer’s wireless network card supports this entire process or not. For that, open Command Prompt as admin and hit the below command:
netsh wlan show drivers
It would list out an output, there at the ending, you have to look for the argument, Hosted Network Supported marked as Yes. If its YES, then you are good to go ahead and if its NO, then either try upgrading your drivers or hardware.
Convert PC Into WiFi Router
To start with, you need to create a connection. You can either do that using a third part tool or by using command prompt. Below is the command to get it created on Command Prompt:
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Dwarka’s key=abc123$$$
Here, ssid would name your WiFi connection and key would be the password. Once you hit the above command on Command Prompt as Admin, you would get the below output.
Next you need to do is, start the above created WiFi connection. This can be done by the below command:
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Once its fired, you would get a message on command prompt that, The hosted network started.
Now right click on the left bottom corner of the screen and click on Network Connections. Now in the opened window, you will find a WiFi connection that you have created above. Right click on that, and click on Properties.
