If you are shifting from Windows to Mac, you would surely want to transfer emails from Outlook to Apple Mail. But the fact that format of Outlook mails is different from emails of Apple Mail, does not allow you to directly transfer emails.
So, you would need Thunderbird to complete this transfer. We would first be transferring emails from Outlook to Thunderbird and then to Apple Mail.
Transfer Emails From Outlook To Apple Mail
Before we actually start with it, download Thunderbird and install it on your computer. Now run it and on the Main Menu, click on Tools and then click on the option labeled as Import.
Since you want to transfer emails, click on the Mail option and then go ahead and click on Next button.
Now, choose the Outlook option, and click on Next button. Depending on the number of emails, Thunderbird would take some time to import emails from Outlook. Once its done, click on the Finish button.
Now you can find that the emails have been imported. So, right click on the Outlook Import folder and click on the Propertied button. We are doing this because we want to see the location where these emails are saved.
You need to go to that location, copy the import file (.sbd format) and save it on your memory stick.
Now connect this memory stick to your Mac and copy the import folder to it. Once its done, run Apple Mail. Here, click on File button on the Main Menu and then click on Import Mailboxes option.
Click on Thunderbird on the next window and then click on Continue button. Now, navigate to the location where you have copied the .sbd format file, select it and click on Choose button.
Now wait file the import is finished and then click on Done button once its done.
