LimeWire lost its long court battle against RIAA, and as the result New York District Court ordered LimeWire to shutdown its services permanently. Since, LimeWire has become lifeline of most of the Internet users, and its termination would surely hurt.
Before its too late, we should start using its alternatives so that we do not miss the services of LimeWire. So, we compile a list of 7 best free alternatives to LimeWire which would cater your downloading and uploading needs that LimeWire used to cater.
This list is for all the LimeWire addicts like me. Here are the 7 best free alternatives to LimeWire:

Although these are some of the best alternatives to LimeWire, there are many more available on Internet. If you know any, do comment and share.
Tried the Bearshare route and wish I hadn’t. Like roxygrl noted, it took over!! I’m still picking and digging to get it out of all the files it imbedded itself in, plus I’m still trying to get it off my home page!! Plus!!… all of the decent mp3 files are pay files!! If I wanted to pay for the damn files I’d go legit and use itunes!!
Then I tried the Frostwire route and what a piece of sh*t that is!! Just like Christina noted, it’s nothing but bullsh*t files promoting some kind of court award to Frostwire!! I MAY have found a grand total of about 4 or 5 usable mp3 files in the something like 100 searches I did. HUGE waste of time and disk space!!
Best Limewire alternatives my dyin’ ass!! I haven’t found anything even CLOSE to Limewire… or the even better and reliable old Audio Galaxy either one!!
When LimeWire went out & downloaded FrostWire. Thought it was the best alternative. But almost EVERY time i search a song it comes up with SO many bulls**t ads that i accidentally dwonload.
So… I downloaded Bearshare & LOVED it!!…..until it said my “Free Trial” was up…… It’s great while it lasts, but apparently the “free” version is just a trial that lasts for about a month. It sucks because i really enjoyed it. Guess i’ll have to find another one! 🙂
Bearshare invades everything and is impossible to get rid of. My son downloaded it and it took over, spent hours and hours looking for files it’s imbedded itself in and removing it. Beware of Bearshare!
Ares = spyware on Trend Micro, and probably is… lol

I downloaded Bearshare following your recommendation, and I’m enjoying it a lot!! 🙂 🙂
It really is incredible!!
Good stuff
With the widespread multitudes of streaming options available I see the usefulness of p2p clients that actually download content to devices rather than streaming it losing market share over the next decade.
Not to mention most of the streaming services are completely legal and getting tons of traffic for that very reason.
Thanks to share this information….. good post
