Angry Birds have surely created an amazing buzz in the cyber world. In 2010, there were more than 12 million downloads, and this shows it all. If you work on Linux, and wondering if you can install and play Angry Birds on Ubuntu Linux, then we have got some good news for you.
In this game you drive a flock of birds in their mission to recover their nest eggs stolen by an evil pig herd. The goal of the game is to complete the levels, each of which there are shelters formed by glass, wood, stone and other materials, where the pigs try to hide. With the help of a catapult, the player must throw the birds from structures to destroy them and thereby eliminate all the pigs of the level. You get points for destroying parts of the structure, removing a pig and finish a level without spending all available birds. At the end of each level, the game awards stars – from zero to three – depending on the number of points earned. The stars are used to unlock special levels.

The link to megaupload did not work, because BIG BROTHER has seized the website and charged the owners and users with racketeering (if you can believe it) among other crimes.
Thanks!
Ran 100% first time with your walk-through, using Bodhi Linux 1.2.1, and the ‘stable’ option when installing Wine from the Bodhi AppCenter.
Did find that we lacked a “~ / .wine/drive_c/windows/system2” folder.
So I put the files into both the “~ / .wine/drive_c/windows/system” folder and the”~ / .wine/drive_c/windows/system32″ folders and it Just Worked.
PC has an AMD 244 CPU with 4GB RAM, nVidia 9800 GTX video. Angry Birds runs really smoothly and the sound is great.
I got it to run, but the sound is really laggy and distorted, any idea’s on a fix?
it works fine….try to see if any of the process on your PC is consuming much of your computer’s resources…kill those processes if they are not the mandatory processes…
Awesome!! I love the open source community! 🙂
The method that GS posted (with GAW’s correction) worked for me. Thanks! =]
