How To Backup And Recover Sticky Notes In Windows 7


Sticky Notes is one of the most lovable features of Windows 7. It helps you to note down things so that you remember them while you are logged in. You might need to save / backup Sticky Notes while you are moving from one Windows 7 system to other and then recover those Sticky notes. Then here is some help for you.

Here is the step by step guide to save / backup and recover Sticky Notes in Windows 7 while you are changing your computers:

BACKUP STICKY NOTES

STEP 1: Browse to the folders as mentioned below:

C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes

Where USERNAME should be replaced by the actual user name, of which you are trying to backup the Sticky Notes.For example:

C:\Users\dwarka\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes

NOTE: Instead of navigating through the above path, you can even copy the above command, paste it in RUN and press enter. It will open the required folder, provided you have changed the username.

STEP 2: There, you will find a file named as StickyNoted.snt. This is the file which has all the contents of your Sticky Notes. All you need to do is save that file into your mail, any drive or any external storage device.

This is how you can save / backup Sticky Notes in Windows 7. And this backup can be later used to recover the same.

RECOVER STICKY NOTES

If you have the backup of your Sticky Notes, then recovering them not a big task. All you need to do is repeat the step 1 so that you open the same folder, and paste the backup file that you have copied. That is it. You have successfully recovered Sticky Notes.
