Display Outlook Reminders and Mails Continuously in Vista


Generally the important reminders and emails of Microsoft Outlook easily will go unnoticed as they get buried under numerous application windows on the screen. Now you can keep important schedules and emails in direct view with a sidebar gadget, eliminating the need to frequently switch to Outlook to check the Inbox. The gadget mentioned here work together with Outlook 2003 and 2007.

  • To install the free gadget, go to the  www.gallery.live.com   website, type ‘Outlook’ in the search field and press the [Enter].
  • You will find the sidebar gadget on the results page called Sidebar Outlook.
  • Click on ‘Download’ and ‘Install’.
  • Select ‘Open’ in the next dialog box and confirm the installation.

You can even configure the sidebar tool as per your preferences. Here’s how:

  • Simply right-click on it and select ‘Options’.
  • Set the ‘Personal Folder’ for the ‘Mailbox’ and subsequently ‘Inbox’ next to it.
  • Set the ‘Calendar’ to the Outlook calendar of your choice in the same way.
  • Once you confirm the same with ‘OK’, your current tasks and schedule reminders will be made available at a glance and you will know whether any unread mails are waiting for you in the inbox.

In addition, you can view important reminders on your desktop even if Outlook has not been opened at all.
