Defraggler from Piriform is a simple and easy-to-use alternative defragmenting utility to the one built-in with Windows which can be used to defrag your entire hard drive, or individual files. This utility supports NTFS and FAT32 file formats. It displays the number of fragmented files and the percentage of the entire drive that is fragmented. A mere click in the ‘View files’ button shows the files presently fragmented and one has the option of defragmenting particular files.
Defragment option is available in two methods like quick and regular. With the Quick option, only the fragmented files are worked upon, while the regular option defragments the entire drive. You can choose to move files of certain capacities or types in order to speed-up the defragmenting process. Particular critical files can also be excluded from the defragmenting options. Scheduling options are available where the drive can be defragmented at particular intervals. The only downside is that the batch defragmenting is not possible with this utility.
