System Tray Items can be irritating, mostly when it is crowded. You can remove all the items from the Tray. I can’t think of a really good use for this trick. We all use the System Tray in the Taskbar, but using this trick you can prevent any items from appearing there – except the time, if you’ve set the clock to appear in the System Tray! So once you apply this hack, the System Tray will be blank except for the time. To make this happen..
Navigate to:
HCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
And to:
HLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Create a DWORD Value in both locations called NoTrayItemsDisplay. Set it to 1 to make items in the System Tray vanish. Come to think of it, this is a cool prank hack! Just log out and back on for the change to take effect.
